A Dinner to Remember
Over the table, last dinner that night,
Mother’s presence, a warm and comforting sight.
The smell of her cooking, so relaxed and sweet,
Filled our hearts with joy, a toddlers treat.
As we sat down to eat, I looked at her face,
A smile so kind, and full of grace.
But there was sadness hidden deep inside,
A hint of tears that she tried to hide.
Her food was so delicious and rare,
I wished that we could just freeze time right there.
But every passing moment felt like goodbye,
A feeling so deep, I couldn’t deny.
