A Promise

Amidst the bustling crowd and endless queue,

I’ll be somewhere there, gazing at you,

Though I may forget to say a simple Hi !!

Whenever you call, I’ll be standing by.

Perhaps I’ll choose the wrong gift or hue,

But my cooking will always have a flavour true,

If I ever cause you anger or sorrow,

I’ll make it right and bring joy to follow.

So don’t fret, and don’t you fear,

I’ll always be there, ever so near,

To lift your spirit and dry your tears,

And bring you happiness that never disappears.
